Help
The most common questions, answered plainly.
I have no signal after installing
Turn on data roaming for the Svala eSIM. Without it there is no connection, and this is by far the most common cause. Also check that Svala is selected for mobile data rather than your usual plan. Restart the phone if it is still silent — the network is chosen at start-up.
When does validity start?
When the eSIM connects to a network at your destination — not when you buy it. So you can buy well before departure without losing days.
How do I install my eSIM?
Open the eSIM under My eSIMs. On iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later, the button installs it directly. Otherwise scan the QR code with the phone you want to install on — use a second screen, since a phone cannot photograph its own. If neither works, the SM-DP+ address and activation code are there for manual installation.
How much data do I have left?
Under My eSIMs, on each eSIM. The figure updates from the operator; tap Refresh usage to fetch the latest immediately.
Can I top up with more data?
Yes, on most plans. You can see whether your eSIM supports top-ups when you open it. The top-up is added to the same eSIM — nothing needs reinstalling.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, as long as the eSIM has not been installed. Installing is what starts delivery, and the right of withdrawal ends there under Swedish distance-selling law — which is also what you accept at checkout. If you bought the wrong plan and have not installed it, contact us and we will sort it out.
Does my eSIM work for calls and texts?
No, our eSIMs are for mobile data. Your usual number keeps working alongside it, and apps like WhatsApp, Messenger and FaceTime work over the data.
Which phones work?
Most phones from 2018 onwards support eSIM, but the phone must also be carrier-unlocked. On iPhone: Settings → General → About → look for IMEI (eSIM). On Android: Settings → About phone → SIM status.
